Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)

Over the years, the determination of the ERA® network to provide the best customer service possible has been rivaled only by its desire to give back to the communities it serves. Nowhere has this commitment to community been more evident than in our collective support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

Since 1977, ERA Real Estate has been the sole corporate sponsor of MDA from the real estate industry. Each year, ERA brokers and sales associates have made time in their lives to sponsor various fundraisers, raising more than $30 million in the process, to support MDA's efforts to help children and adults with neuromuscular diseases.

Celebration 30 Years

In 2007, the ERA network will celebrate its 30th Anniversary as a national sponsor for MDA. To commemorate this milestone, we are conducting the "Home In On a Cure" campaign. The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness for the ERA network's ongoing support of MDA, while also raising $2,000,000 collectively for this worthy cause.

As part of this campaign, ERA Real Estate will launch several exciting national promotions later this year that will include an online game and a celebrity auction. Be sure to check TeamERA.com throughout the year for continuous updates on the "Home In On a Cure" 30th Anniversary celebration.

Individual ERA members can help do their part to ensure we meet our campaign goal to raise $2,000,000 for MDA by participating in the new ERA /MDA Home Grown Hero program.

National Fundraisers & Events

ERA/MDA Home Grown Hero – Coming in April
The Home Grown Hero program is a new online fundraiser that makes it quicker and easier than ever to support MDA. This tool allows you to send e-mails to your clients, family and friends who can then make a donation online using a credit card. Individuals within the ERA network that raise $1,000 or more will be designated a "Home Grown Hero," receive special recognition and be invited to the annual MDA Awards reception.

Day in May
A "Day in May for MDA" is a time-honored fundraising tradition for the ERA network, where ERA affiliates across the country each select one day in May to raise funds to support MDA in its fight against neuromuscular diseases.

International Open Office
One weekend each October, ERA offices around the world are invited to open their doors to the community to show appreciation for their past and ongoing support. Affiliates in the U.S. are encouraged to use this opportunity to raise funds for the MDA.

Labor Day Telethon
Each year, ERA Real Estate gains national exposure through our check presentation on the Labor Day Telethon. But there are also opportunities for ERA affiliates to gain exposure locally through check presentations, tote board sponsorships, matching pledge segments and more. Contact your local MDA representative for more details.

MDA Summer Camp
Each year, MDA hosts weeklong summer camps to give children and young adults ages 6-21 suffering with neuromuscular diseases the chance to have fun and simply "be a kid" for a few days and forget about the daily challenges they face. ERA/MDA Netflix Promotion
To further our ongoing support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, ERA Real Estate has aligned with Netflix, Inc., an online movie rental subscription service. Learn how you and your customers can rent movies and support MDA at the same time.
